Why is it that as happy as I probably should be I am no where near as smiley faced as anyone else?

It's been months and yet this fucking freak still crawls into my mind at night. His lies and his stories of loving me.

He wasn't anything amazing. It was just the heat we had. The fact that I never felt so warm when someone else had ever touched me. I feel the irony of it all, especially as I've had others run after me (friends/boyfriends/girlfriends) while he never even bothered to text me back after a fight.

I feel better today. I listened to all different kinds of happy music as I walked up to work and for the first time in ages I actually have company in the office!
I had a bit of a think last night and realised that many of my feelings for C are just mindless distractions from The Family (ie the lack of it). Mum's just in that stage right now where she's fine, picked herself up off the ground and getting on with things. She's even gone out with a couple of people from work and is taking pride in her appearance now. I'm just hoping that this stage is long term. There's this horrible cycle - utter pain from him fucking off when he likes to anger and being not the ideal mother and then SUPER MUM who goes out and has fun. Then he comes back into the picture by doing something completely dramatic - like getting himself in the hospital. It's all guilt. It's the only reason why he hasn't been out on his arse years ago.

But, er, yeah, positive! I am positive!
I figure I should enjoy this stage while it lasts. I'm saving every penny I can to get out of here. I just don't know how I'm going to cope with feeding myself. Noodles are the only thing I know how to make. Not good for 20!

Everything in my office is quiet. I'm the only one here.

It scares me slightly that after 3 days here they hand me the keys to the security system and cash box. I'm in the mood for raiding through people's drawers in desperate hope that there's proof they're aliens or illegal immigrants.
